On roof repairs
Not every roof problem needs a full re-roof. Plenty of leaks, slipped tiles, and damaged flashings can be properly repaired - and when that's the case, we'll tell you. We don't push people into work they don't need.
Diagnosing the problem properly
Roof leaks aren't always where they look like they are. Water travels along rafters, runs down felt, and emerges through ceilings several feet from the actual entry point. The first thing we do on any repair is find the real cause - sometimes that means getting up on the roof, sometimes it means going into the loft to trace the water back to its source.
Once we know what's actually wrong, we can tell you honestly whether it's a quick fix, a bigger repair, or whether the roof is genuinely at the end of its life and a re-roof is the better investment. We won't sell you a re-roof if a repair will do, and we won't sell you a repair if a re-roof is actually what you need.
Common repairs we handle
- Replacing missing or broken tiles and slates
- Repairing or replacing damaged flashings around chimneys, valleys, and abutments
- Re-bedding ridge tiles and hip tiles that have worked loose
- Pointing failed mortar joints
- Repairing damaged felt and battens beneath the covering
- Fixing leaks around roof windows and vents
- Replacing damaged lead work
Storm damage
After high winds, we see a lot of slipped tiles, damaged ridge tiles, and torn-off lead flashings. If you've spotted damage after a storm, get it looked at sooner rather than later - a single missing tile can let water into the roof structure, and that turns a small repair into a much bigger one within months. We can usually come out for a free assessment within two working days.
Insurance work
If your repair is being claimed on insurance, we can deal with your insurer directly. We provide the photographs, reports, and quotes they need, and we handle the paperwork so you don't have to chase it.
Honest pricing
Repairs are quoted properly, the same way bigger jobs are. You'll get a written quote with the work broken down - no vague "from £X" pricing, no day-rate surprises at the end. The price we quote is the price you pay, unless we find something genuinely unexpected once we're up there, in which case we'll talk to you before doing any extra work.
